AIS는 Automotive Industry Standard의 약자로서, 인도의 자동차 및 관련제품의 기술기준을 의미함. 이는 인도 도로교통부(Ministry of Road Transport and Highways)에서 관리하는 기준으로 도로교통부가 인도의 자동차 산업을 규제함. 인도 도로교통부에서 규제하는 자동차 및 자동차 부품, 전기충전기 등을 판매하기 위해서는 반드시 도로교통부가 정한 승인절차를 거쳐야 함.
