To support the global transition to net-zero emissions and align with national energy policies promoting the use of renewable energy and energy storage appliances, the BSMI has included stationary lithium battery storage appliances with a capacity of up to 20 kWh in the mandatory inspection scope to ensure product safety. As these appliances can be expanded d on user needs, the BSMI has proposed broadening the inspection scope to 100 kWh and require communications security inspections for power conversion system (PCS) with a capacity exceeding 20 kW to reduce potential threats to grid security. Conformity Assessment Procedures will remain unchanged.
