This draft Commission Delegated Regulation sets limit values for industrial batteries for capacity fade, energy round trip efficiency (residential battery energy storage systems only), and expected lifetime in cycles or years. It contains measurement and calculation methods to help determine whether limit values are met and details whether and how various second life batteries should be evaluated with regard to the limit values.In addition, the draft amends certain parts of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 in view of technical and scientific progress: the standards relevant for QR codes and unique identifiers for the battery passport and technical parameters concerning performance and durability, safety (stationary battery energy storage systems only) and state of health (stationary battery energy storage systems and batteries for light means of transport).
