이 조항의 전체 문구를 다음과 같이 대체한다.
이 국제표준은 AC 전용 케이블 릴에 적용되며, 단상 케이블 릴의 경우 정격 전압이 50V~250V, 그 외 모든 케이블 릴의 경우 정격 전압이 50V~440V이고, 정격 전류는 16A를 초과하지 않는 제품에 해당한다.
해당 제품은 실내외에서 사용되는 가정용, 상업용, 경공업용 및 이와 유사한 용도로 설계되었으며, 특히 정상적인 사용 시 안전성을 중점적으로 고려하여 제작되었다.
다음에는 본 표준이 적용되지 않는다.
– 기기나 조명기구에 내장된 케이블 릴 장치
– 기기나 조명기구에 연결된 케이블 릴 장치
참고 1 기기에 내장된 케이블 릴 장치에 대한 요건은 IEC 60335-1 및 IEC 60335-2-2에 명시되어 있다.
참고 2 조명기 내 내장된 케이블 릴 장치에 대한 요건은 IEC 60598-1 및 IEC 60598-2-25에 명시되어 있다.
참고 3 기기나 조명기구와 연결된 케이블 릴 장치는 특정 기기나 조명기구에 전원을 공급하도록 설계된 장치이다.
이는 기기나 조명기구에 고정되거나 함께 제공되어야 하며, 내부에 내장되지 않고 감전으로부터 보호할 수 있는 자체 인클로저를 갖추어야 한다.
예를 들어, IEC 60598-2-8에 규정된 손전등용 케이블 릴 장치가 이에 해당한다.
이 표준은 적용 가능한 범위 내에서 기기나 조명기구에 내장되거나 연결된 케이블 릴 장치에 대한 지침으로 사용할 수 있다.

- Replace the whole text of this clause by the following: This International Standard applies to cable reels for a.c. only, with a rated voltage above 50 V and not exceeding 250 V for single-phase cable reels and above 50 V and not exceeding 440 V for all other cable reels, and a rated current not exceeding 16 A. They are intended for household, commercial and light industrial and similar purposes, either indoors or outdoors, with particular reference to safety in normal use. This standard does not apply to: – cable reeling devices incorporated in appliances or luminaires; – cable reeling devices associated with appliances or luminaires. NOTE 1 Requirements for cable reeling devices incorporated in appliances are specified in IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60335-2-2. NOTE 2 Requirements for cable reeling devices incorporated in luminaires are specified in IEC 60598-1 and IEC 60598-2-25. NOTE 3 A cable reeling device associated with an appliance or luminaire is a device designed to supply a specific appliance or luminaire. It must be fixed to or delivered with the appliance or luminaire, without being incorporated in it and having its own enclosure which provides protection against electric shock. An example is a cable reeling device associated with handlamps according to IEC 60598-2-8. This standard may be used as a guide for cable reeling devices incorporated or associated in appliances or luminaires as far as it is applicable. 61242 Amend.1 © IEC:2008 – 3 – Cable reels complying with this standard are suitable for use at ambient temperatures not normally exceeding 25 °C, but occasionally reaching 35 °C. In locations where special conditions prevail, special construction may be required.
